Today felt like an "Alice in Wonderland" sort of day. This was a re-creation of a look by xBeingNEONx (sadly though I can't find the video where she showed her look :( I think she might have taken it down? I believe she said she was inspired by the older version and the new version of the Cheshire cat and sort of meshed their colours together. I love ittttttt♥).

Makeup Tip #4: Mascara

When applying mascara to your upper lashes, apply a coat of mascara to the tops of your lashes (the side that usually catches fall out from eyeshadows) by brushing them downwards and then apply a coat to the bottom (the "front" of your eye lashes)  side of your upper lashes.

Makeup tip #3: Cream Makeup

When using cream makeup, set it with a powder. It'll help lessen the chances of it creasing.

Makeup Tip #2: Foundation

Give your foundation time to dry before setting it with face powder

My Eyebrows

A topic that seems to come up often in conversations (concerning makeup) are my eyebrows, and I often get a lot of questions from people about it.

Why?
The main reason I shave my eyebrows is because I don't like the natural shape of them. My eyebrows grow very low, thick, and straight. People ask why don't I just wait for them to grow out and shape them? More hair grows on the bottom part of my eyebrow then on the top, so I can't achieve the shape I want as easily as I want. My hair is also naturally blonde, and I dye it black, and though you can really only tell up close, I just don't really like the lighter hairs against the dark brow powder and pencil. I don't have the patience to wait for the hair to grow, and I know there are some products that claim to help with eyebrow hair growth, but I don't want to spend the money on it. Plus, I don't like the pain of tweezing and I don't wanna get my eyebrows waxed. And I've tried threading and I can do it, but it's still uncomfortable.

Up keep?
Up keep is pretty simple. Every few days (depending on the growth), I take a small electric hair trimmer and run it across my brows to trim down the hair. Then, using my regular razor, I shave off the "tail" part of my eyebrows and then a bit from the front part. I leave a bit of hair near the start of my eyebrows just to use as a guide for where to start. I shaved off my entire eyebrow once, and I just noticed I had a bit more trouble drawing them on without some guide as to where to stop.

How do I draw in my eyebrows?
The way I personally prefer to draw on my eyebrows is to draw the basic shape (that I want that day) with a brown power (because the powder is so much more forgiving then the pencil),  then I take a black eyebrow pencil and continue to fill in the rest and make the shape much more defined. I then set the powder with either a darker brown or black shadow.

The products I'm using currently for my eyebrows is Too Faced: Brow Envy (Brunette eyebrow power) and NXY Auto Eyebrow Pencil (EP08 Black)

I don't plan on growing back my eyebrows out and keeping with my natural shape anytime soon. It can be a time consuming process to draw them on for me (because I have not so great eyesight and am not very good at getting things symmetrical). Though after doing it over and over again and developing a process, it gets much easier and takes up much less time. There are other drawbacks to doing this (for me, personally) I don't feel comfortable leaving my house without drawing in my eyebrows, so unless I've already drawn them in earlier in the day, I have to stop and pencil them in. Also, I can't really touch my eyebrow/forehead area much anymore, and if something happens when I'm out in public and if my eyebrows gets wiped off, then I'm kinda S.O.L. (the only makeup I really ever carry with me is lip gloss or my lipstick, if I wearing it that day. I don't carry around my brow pencil...which I should probably start doing! haha Basically, I don't really carry around much makeup in my bag :p). But despite how much of a pain it can be sometimes, I still prefer to do my eyebrows this way. Some days are bad and some days are good. When they're bad, I figure that they're not gettin' any better and I might as well just deal with them. But on days when they're good, whoa...it's gonna be a great day.

Where have I been??

So I haven't really stopped doing makeup and whatnot. I actually lost my battery for my camera, and am not fully prepared to bring myself to spend about $150 to replace it, so I've been trying to find a new one. So I'm not dead, I promise. I've been having some people asking me if I still do makeup, and that's the only reason why I haven't been posting many pictures or posts on here, but hopefully that's going to change soon. I also have so much going on with college and whatnot (and while I was thinking of going to become an art history major, I'm thinking I might switch over to business and maybe open up something...? A makeup shop, perhaps? haha). But there's loads I wanna talk about and have learned a few new fun things recently, so hopefully I'll be back up and running soon! :)♥

LOTD: Naturally Glamorous

This is one of my absolute favorite dark eye sort of makeup to wear! It's starting to become one of my go-to look.

I used the Revlon CustomEyes palette in "Naturally Glamorous" for most of this, but I added a matte brown eyeshadow from the tarte for TrueBlood kit.

Face:
Moisturized face with Clean&Clear Dual Action Moisturizer
Primed with Rimmel Fix&Perfect Primer 02
Revlon Colorstay makeup for combination/oily skin in 110 Ivory
Boiing Industrial Strength Concealer: 01
Set with Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder: Translucent 070-24
tarte for TrueBlood eyeshadow in "Dusk" was used as a cheek and nose contour
NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in 720A Sunny used on cheeks
Revlon SkinLights in 02 Bare Lights used as highlight

Eyes:
Primed with tatre for TrueBlood lifted natural eye primer with Firmitol
All 5 colours in the Revlon "Naturally Glamorous" palette (colours weren't given names, just numbers) used:
1. On entire lid
4) Outer part of the lid
2) In crease and blended upwards
5) Used to deepen the crease
3) Inner eye highlight and brow highlight
tarte for TrueBlood colour "Werewolf" was used in the crease to darken it and blended upwards
Eyes lined with NYC Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in 931 Black, e.l.f. cream liner in black and topped with #5 from Revlon "Naturally Glamorous" palette
Upper lashline lined with elf cream liner in black
tarte's "Lights, Camera, Lashes" mascara was used with a coat of Ready to Wear Lash Extension on upper lashes and "Lights Camera Lashes" mascara used on lower lashes
Eyebrows drawn in with NYC Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in 931 Black and set with NYX ES01 Black

Lips:
A light pink/nude lipgloss by Malibu Glitz (no idea what the colour is called or what it's numbers is). It's a strange "gloss" that has a very thick consistency (I could honestly use this as concealer, it's so thick...in fact, I have...o^_^o) and it dries matte.

Everything was set with elf Makeup Mist & Set

Not Your Average Waitress

For c-mas, I got the tarte for True Blood palette and I absolutely love it (especially the mascara...oh my goodness, I can't even deal with how amazing it is! I have to get a new, full-size tube soon). So far, the only thing I'm not too crazy about is the eyeliner. It's like a gel liner in a tube, and it's super soft and breaks easily, so I have to use a brush. But it's a super creamy, dark black, so I can live with it :)

The palette comes with a little booklet that has 4 different looks and how to do them (it also says that they are "exclusive looks created by True Bloods award-winning lead makeup artist Brigitte Ellis)

None of the looks are really complex or complicated, but that's something I really love about them. They're simple and easy to do, yet are still very pretty and flattering.

The looks (in order of the picture above) are called "Not Your Average Waitress", "Luminous Fairy", "Vampy Vixen", and "Vamp Glam".

Today I did the look called "Not Your Average Waitress" for work. I love it and its been what I've been wearing to work almost every day now.
