Ready To Wear Lash Extension Review

I just wanted to talk for a spell about a new product I got the other night. It's called "Ready To Wear Lash Extension".

I first used this a few weeks back at my sister-in-laws and wanted it right away.

Home Shopping Network provides this description of the product:

"False eyelashes in a bottle! Enjoy the ease and convenience of Ready To Wear's Lash Extension. This beauty treatment in black delivers longer, fuller, thicker and healthier-looking lashes in seconds. You receive a .25 oz. bottle.
Ready To Wear Lash Extension Features:
  • Dry cellulose fibers give you the longest lashes possible without actually applying fake eyelashes.
  • Adds volume and helps strengthen lashes.
  • Simply apply in between coats of mascara.
  • Best used in combination with the Ready To Wear Mascara (sold separately).
Product Note: Ready To Wear Lash Extension is not a mascara. It is a formula of dry fibers that should never be applied to lashes alone. Lash Extension should always be applied by "sandwiching" the product between coats of mascara. The first coat of mascara gives the Lash Extension a coating to adhere to, while the second coat of mascara seals the Lash Extension to your lashes.

Yearn for the look of long, full lashes but hate fussing with traditional fake eyelashes? Ready To Wear Lash Extension gives you false eyelashes in a bottle! Simply brush on some of these .25 oz. dry, black cellulose fibers between coats of your mascara. In mere seconds, your eyes will sport longer, fuller, thicker, healthier-looking lashes.

Ready To Wear Lash Extension Features:

  • Fibers give you the appearance of the longest lashes possible without actually applying false eyelashes.
  • Easy to remove with your regular eye makeup remover.
  • Fast-acting beauty treatment.
  • Just apply in between coats of mascara.
  • Should a few fibers fall onto the skin, just brush away lightly with a powder brush or cotton swab. The fibers are not wet, so they will not stick or ruin your makeup.
  • For best results, this product should be used in combination with Ready To Wear Mascara, sold separately.
  • Made in USA.
Directions for Use:
  • Step 1: Start one eye at a time, applying mascara to top right eyelashes first.
  • Step 2: While mascara is still wet, apply Lash Extension.
  • Step 3: Follow with a second coat of mascara to seal Lash Extension to your lashes.
  • Step 4: Repeat process on bottom lashes of your right eye.
  • Step 5: Repeat this application process on your left eye.

Lash Extension contains: Cellulose Acetate, Panthenol."

Pros:
-My eyelashes are very light (I naturally have blonde hair), and both differ in length. I feel like this product makes them both look more even (and my uneven eyelashes [reasons why would be a whole blog post in itself! haha] make me feel terribly self-conscious). I think the ad is very true in its promise to thicker looking lashes. I wouldn't go as far as to say it gives the "false lash" effect, but it does make a huge improvement.

-I mention this in the cons, but there is some fall out with this. But what I really like is how it's not a big deal if it falls on your cheeks after applying it because it doesn't leave any sort of black streaks. So clean up is NOT a big deal at all. I've noticed though that if I apply it this with a light hand, there's not much fall out (if any).

-Clean up is super easy. I just use regular eye makeup remover, or whatever I'm cleaning my makeup off with, and it comes right off. I remember having a mini heart attack when I first used it because when I was cleaning off my mascara, I saw the little fibers and thought it was my eye lashes. Nope! It's only the small fibers :)

Cons:
-There can be a bit of fall out with this. Although that's not a HUGE issue for me (since it is dry and can be easily wiped away without leaving any sort of streaks or marks), it's only a pain because I wear contacts and it can fall into my eye and get on them. If it gets on top of my contact, it leaves little black lines from the fibers. But if it gets under it, it can really irritate my eye (I noticed after I removed my contacts, little fibers rested at the bottom of my contact case). But like I said, applying with a light hand can help with fall out.
-If too much product is put on, it can make the lashes look clumpy.

I say that this product is really worth a try. For me, it is a bit pricey (twenty or so dollars, I don't remember exactly how much I paid for it), but for me, it was worth it. I think it's a great addition to any mascara routine. It's a simple and quick step to longer, thicker looking lashes.

New Way To Classify Palette

Just a little note: Since my main palette that I use is usually the coastal scents one, I've decided to try and find a better way of classifying the colours that I use, instead of just saying if it's the matte, shimmer, or metallic palette.
So I made these 3 little charts with letters and numbers, to help me show which colour I used:

Matte

Metallic

Shimmer

I will mos def try and include a chart when I post a look of the day

Zombie Makeup

More makeup from the past! haha This was really my first time doing any zombie makeup, and I really want to do more soon :) And now that the weather is getting cooler, hopefully I'll be able to crank more creepy, gross makeup out :D haha sitting in front of a hot light and not having a fan or AC to keep cool is quite an uncomfortable experience, plus everything starts to melt with the heat, humidity, and sweat haha

**and on a side note, no, I did not edit my eyes to look like that. That's me rolling my eyes in the back of my head.
...Hurts like hell! haha

e.l.f.Makeup Mist and Set: First Use Impression

So, a quick update on the e.l.f.Makeup Mist and Set.
So today before I went to work, I put on all my makeup and sprayed my face with the mist. I was working a truck shipment, so I was in the back, movin' around quite a bit (and it's pretty warm back there).  When I got home, I noticed that my makeup was still pretty fresh. So maybe it works, but I'll just have to keep using it to see :)
I also noticed that there was less makeup on my phone screen when I pulled it away from my face (usually there's a thin layer of powder but this time, there wasn't).
But so far, it seems like three dollars well spent.

E.L.F. Cosmetics "Almost Haul"

Yesterday I was out with one of my girlfriends, and I ended up spoiling myself a bit with some e.l.f. cosmetics (more stores need to sell e.l.f.!).

I only bought 4 things, but for me, that's quite a bit haha I usually collect some makeup over time.

Anywhoozers, I bought 3 lip products (all for $1). Two of them I really loved. First one was the Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Baby Lips 2111 and the other was Minty Lip Gloss in 82422 Nashville. There's not too much to them. Baby Lips gives my lips just a hint of pink, which I prefer, instead of a full-blown pink (further down, you'll notice that I try to keep a lot of pink off my skin haha). It comes in the little twisty-clickly pens, and the application is a bit of a bigger doe foot applicator then what I'm used to (though I do like it). The product glides on pretty smooth and isn't sticky.
Nashville is more sheer but gives my lips a more peachy look. I think the scent is strong, but I LOVE the smell of mint, so I'm not complaining haha No complaints really about it. It looks like it might have some micro gold gliter, though only a tiny bit, and I don't notice any sort of grittyness when I put it on.
Overall, I really, really like both of these.

But then I also got a lipstick (I've been on the hunt for a pretty natural lipstick colour) and picked up the e.l.f. Lipstick in 7702 Classy. I didn't really like it. I was hoping the colour would be more of a peachy colour, but it came out more pink, and was sort of difficult to apply. My friend that I went with tried it on, and she seemed to have some trouble at first applying it. It came out more of her own lip colour and I gave it to her, since I'd never wear it. I don't really have much to say on it haha

A side note: I noticed that the Luscious Lquid Lipstick and the Lipstick both have the same description on the back, but the liquid lipstick says  to use the Therapeutic Lip Blam prior to use for best results.

The fourth thing I sort of bought on whim (for $3? Why not...).
It's the e.l.f. Makeup Mist and Set.
I've heard of makeup setters before, but never really looked into them. I've also heard of using hairspray, but just never really used it haha Though I can see the science in it! My skin can get really pink and I personally think I have a sort of ruddy complexion, so I like it when my skin has an even complexion. Now that summer is over and it's getting older, I want to break out with using more heavy makeup, and I want to wear my lipsticks again (my blacks, my reds, my purples). I want my skin to keep a more even, pale colour when I wear those. (On a side note, I think I might make a post soon about black lipstick, since I usually get a bunch of questions on them.)

I started looking up what people had to say about it after I bought it and the main complaint seems to be the smell.
I first used it in my car (and had a guy in the next car over staring at me like I was freak haha boys just don't get it!) and wasn't struck by any sort of smell. I even opened the bottle to smell directly from the product, and it barely smells like anything (I guess I can compare it to old bottled water?).  I can't compare this to anything, seeing as I've never used a setting spray before. I've read that some people got it to try and set their eye makeup. I'm using it strictly to try and keep my foundation and concealer in place.

When I first used it, I was following my friend to a store and when we got out of our cars, the first thing I said was "Does my makeup look different?" She said "It looks better, I think...?" haha So I'm going to have to see if I notice any sort of difference in the next few days. It has a lot of moisturizers in my skin, so at least if it doesn't keep my makeup on, maybe it'll make my skin softer? haha we will see :) Right off the bat though, I noticed I need to spray it from a distance, otherwise the spray will come out heavy and thick and drippy.

Bit of an update...

Long time no talk, huh? :)
Well, Halloween is over, so hopefully I'll be able to get some pretty cheap Halloween stuff (and more latex since last night I spilt half a bottle on my carpet D: I was able to cut and peel a lot of it out, but I still have white spots...oh well........I'm an artist...........it's decoration now!). I wanted to do so many makeup looks, but now I have a job (yay! :D) and school, so I don't really have time to sit down and play with makeup as much as I used to (though hopefully soon I will be able to). I know Halloween is over, but I'm going to keep posting old looks I've done. A lot of these looks are from my other blog that I never update anymore, so it's sort of like I'm moving into SassyCatMakeup haha I bought some more prosthetic pieces the other day, so hopefully I will get to play with those in the next week or so :3 Am I the only one that feels like Halloween just kinda passed over? Everyone's super jazzed about Christmas, it seems D: It's okay Halloween AND Thanksgiving. I'll remember you haha
This might be silly, but I want to thank everyone that has looked at my blog so far. I know I only have 3 followers so far (and thank you for following me~♥), but the fact that people are looking at what I've done means so much to me!
I saw that 3,101 people have checked out my Sugar Skull makeup look. MY GOODNESS♥♥♥
Thank you all :)
Hopefully I will be able to update things more.
Much love!

Hound of Zeus

This is one of my favorite looks that I've done, mainly because I adore Greek Mythology!

"Apparently there are two types of harpy. One consists of wind spirits, with such names as Swiftfoot, Stormwind, and Swiftwing. They are ruthless personifications of the wind, but not nearly so unpleasent as the other type. These, with such names as Dark, are violently antagonistic to humans.
The harsh semi-human screams of a harpy as it swoops upon its prey, the thunder of its wings and the foul stench of its unpreened feathers, are signals that it is executing a sentence of the gods from which there is no escape."
--"Encyclopedia of Things that Never Were" by Michael Page & Robert Ingpen

"...they were agents of punishment who abducted people and tortured them on their way to Tartarus. They were vicious, cruel and violent."
--???

"Here the repellent harpies make their nests,
Who drove the Trojans from the Strophades
With dire announcements of the coming woe.
They have broad wings, a human neck and face,
Clawed feet and swollen, feathered bellies; they caw
Their lamentations in the eerie trees."
--Dante

Posion Ivy

Sadly, I don't look NEARLY as sassy as she does haha But this was a great shading practice (though it was all based off Poison Ivy, I think it could still work for an Elphaba look too)

We're Not Sheep

This was really my first experiment with rigid collodion (and it was so painful!!! haha)
But it was a lot of fun to do this little Edward Scissorhands looks :)

Halloween Look Posts

I think I'm gonna to a bit of a spam of Halloween/theatrical/creepy looks I've done the past year. They're only going to be pictures though. I don't remember all of the products I used off the top of my head haha

Sugar Skull Makeup

For about a year now, I've been trying to do a sugar skull look, and today, I finally did half of my face in a way that I liked! I was mainly insipred by the beautiful work of Sylvia Ji

One side was always harder to do then the other for me (mainly the filigree work haha I'm no artist. I can't even draw a straight line with a ruler!) so I just slapped a missing eye and some blood on the other side and called it a day haha
Though I really like the sugar skull side. I think I might actually now have my Halloween costume decided! :3

Halloween Time!!!

Howdy!
I'm so excited for Halloween this year, and with Halloween stores FINALLY opening, I'm having a ball :)
I already bought a few things, and am going to try out prostetics while they're in stores and while they're fairly cheap (just to get a feel for them).
(Ya can see I've started playing around with some things already o^_^o)
